LE ROCQUIER SCHOOL, JERSEY

Le Rocquier school is being rebuilt in stages on its existing site for the States of Jersey Education, Sports and Culture committee, by Charles LeQuesne (1956). When completed it will have a floor area of around 10,000m2 and accommodate up to 900 pupils and 100 staff.

XPR W1 system is being used for the majority of the internal partitions, but where there is a need for additional sound insulation – for areas such as music rooms for example – XPR W4 system is being used.

Phil Moss of Charles LeQuesne explains “because we chose this system from the outset we don’t have any data to make comparisons with other solutions. We estimate though that plastered block work would have taken about twelve weeks longer to complete. This equates to around £150,000 in time-related savings alone.”
